Nicosia City Library is a conceptual public library project developed as a civic learning node within the urban fabric of Lefkoşa / Nicosia. The project responds to a site surrounded by educational buildings, pedestrian movement, active streets, vegetation, and future urban densification. Instead of treating the plot as an empty urban gap, the design transforms it into a public destination for reading, learning, gathering, and cultural exchange. The concept is based on the dialogue between two forms of knowledge: the printed book and the digital screen. A solid, heavier mass represents permanence, memory, and the traditional physical library, while a lighter transparent volume expresses openness, accessibility, and the evolving culture of digital reading. Between them, a central social void organizes movement, daylight, and interaction, becoming the heart of the project.
